Here are the rules for the 2006 iTest. The test will be made available online at noon CST on Wednesday, September 13, 2006. For any questions regarding the rules, email questions@AHSIMC.com.

THE 10 RULES OF THE 2006 iTest.
Read carefully. They have changed from last year.

1. Calculators or mathematical computer programs (e.g. Mathematica or Matlab) are not allowed on this test.

2. To receive credit, all answers must be EXACT (e.g. 5π or 5*pi instead of 15.71, or 29/41 instead of .71), and all fractions must be in lowest terms, unless the problem explicitly states otherwise.

3. Teams of up to five (5) students may work on this exam together. Asking parents or teachers about test questions, or discussing test questions over the internet with students outside your 5-person team, is not allowed. Use of internet search engines and/or textbooks is allowed.

4. Begin this test at noon, Central Standard Time, on Wednesdsay, September 13, 2006. One student will be “iTest Team Captain” on each team and is responsible for submitting his or her team’s completed 2006 iTest Exam online no later than Sunday, September 17, 2006, by midnight CST.

5. The completed test must be submitted online by clicking "Submit" on the online test page. In the event of an error on the website, teams may submit their tests in MS Word or PDF form to tests@ahsimc.com. In the email, please give a full explanation of why your team could not submit your test online. Remember, this should only be done as a last resort.

6. The 2006 iTest consists of a multiple choice section, a fill-in-the-blank section (where answers are integral from 0 to 2006, inclusive), and an ultimate question. None of these sections require work to be shown and no partial credit will be awarded.

7. A tiebreaker section, consisting of proofs, will only be scored in the event of a tie after the scoring of the first three sections. If a tie still remains after inclusion of Tiebreakers, it will be broken by comparing submission times of the completed test back to AHSIMC for grading. The team with an earlier submission time among teams tied after comparing all other tiebreakers will win the tie.

8. As of 2006, international schools outside of the United States will be allowed to participate.

9. All submitted tests for grading become AHSIMC property. All decisions made by AHSIMC are final.

10. THE FOLLOWING ARE GROUNDS FOR DISQUALIFICATION WITHOUT NOTIFICATION FROM THE 2006 AHSIMC EXAM: Attempts to hack the iTest website, submission of a virus or other hostile code, or any other actions detrimental to the 2006 iTest will result in immediate legal action against those deemed responsible, as well as immediate disqualification of all teams with members from the associated school.
